What is Body Sculpting Treatment? What to Expect During Treatment?

In a world where everyone is obsessed with slim-trim body, being overweight is a disturbing thought for all of us, even though it is 1-2 kilos. With a busy lifestyle around commute, work, deadlines, with binge eating, it is very difficult to find time for exercise. Hence, cosmetic surgeries like body sculpting can make you look beautiful without pain and sweat. It is a non-surgical process which enjoys great popularity these days.

What is Body Sculpting?

Body sculpting is a non-surgical weight loss treatment which has rose to prominence nowadays. There are different machines and technologies claim to reduce fat in the market. For example, Cool Sculpting freezes fat with ultra-low temperatures, tripolar and bipolar radio frequency uses heat, and Ultra Lipo uses ultrasonic waves. You may also go with massage-based treatments, such as endermologie, which is helpful to mobilize fat and cut cellulite.

In all such procedures, the fat is subjected to trauma which can disrupt the fat cells. Instead of removing the damaged fat by suction (as in laser liposuction or traditional procedure), it is left in the body and naturally cleared by the body itself. In most cases, this body shaping treatment is highly based on operator.

What to Expect During the Procedure?

Let’s take an example of Ultra Lipo to understand this process better. In body sculpting clinic, the surgeons use ultrasonic waves to form micro bubbles in the fat tissue and combine several temperatures and pressures. It breaks the fat cells down and the fat deposits are automatically cleared by the body. It takes around 40 minutes to complete the procedure along with 30-minute skin tightening using radio frequency.

Per session, a person may get fat reduced in the circumference of 2 cm. by the end of 6 to 8 sittings, around 2 to 3 inches are reduced in the circumference or girth of fat. Since it is a non-surgical procedure conducted in body shaping clinic, there is no pain, no downtime, and no damage and no side effects are caused to other organs and tissues.

Who is a Good Candidate for this Treatment?

This non-surgical fat loss treatment is for those who cannot lose weight with just exercise and diet. It simply works for those who need spot fat loss or those who want to contour or reshape some of the stubborn areas of fat which haven’t worked out with exercise or diet. Some of the commonly targeted regions are love handles, abdomen, inner and outer thigh, upper arms, buttocks, calves, elbows and back.

Since this treatment doesn’t cause any harmful side effects, it is best suited for many people. But due to reduced metabolism in older people, the results or reductions will be lower. So, it doesn’t work on people who are above 60 years.

One thing every patient should keep in mind that it is not a weight loss formula. Even after undergoing this type of treatment, patients have to stick to healthy diet and lifestyle. The price of the treatment ranges from clinic to clinic. But expect around Rs. 2500 to Rs. 6000 per session, according to the area to be addressed.

There are Various Questions in Your Mind When You Go For Any Surgery- What,Why and How

What is Liposuction?

It is a form of cosmetic surgery that is performed to improve our body’s contour or weight loss in certain areas, by removing excess fat from deposits located between the skin and muscle. New techniques of Liposuction : Tumescent liposuction, Ultrasound liposuction, Laser liposuction.

Why it is needed?

The major reason people undergo liposuction is to reshape some areas of our body, it should not be confused with ‘Obesity’ or Fat Reduction Surgery’.
Liposuction is performed to cater to the following issues:
1.    It should be conducted for stubborn areas which do not respond well to dieting and exercising like - outer thighs, hips, waist, back, face, neck, abdomen, back, buttocks, legs, and upper arms.
2.    To remove Benign fatty tumors (lipomas).
3.    To reduce abnormal enlargement of the male breasts(gynecomastia or pseudogynecomastia).
4.    Lipodystrophy- slow metabolism issues in body
5.    Excessive sweating in the armpit area

How it is performed?

It involves inserting a small stainless steel tube, called a Cannula inside the fatty areas through small incisions made in the skin. The Cannula is connected to a powerful suction pump which creates a suction leading to tiny tunnels through the fatty layers.
